Land Registry and Ordnance Survey team outside the WikiHouse

The first Ordnance Survey and Land Registry GeoVation Housing Challenge began with a launch event at The Building Centre on Monday evening. The venue provided the ideal backdrop for a challenge that is encouraging participates to think creatively about our diverse and complicated housing needs.

Delegates from the housing and property sectors, government, data community and likely challenge entrants talked together and heard speakers share about the challenge and its impact. Three former GeoVation winners gave testimonials on how GeoVation funding and support had enabled them to turn their ideas into sustainable ventures.

Anyone interested in taking part in the challenge can submit an idea from now until 19 November 2014. If you’re considering entering the challenge, we’d encourage you to attend one of our free workshops. The workshops provide insight into current housing issues such as:

  • affordability
  • access and infrastructure
  • availability and
  • best use of assets.

In addition data master classes will help you gain a greater understanding of Land Registry and Ordnance Survey open datasets and the tools and techniques required to use them. You can register for a workshop by clicking on the location link below:
