Networking at the LGA Conference

Land Registry will meet local authorities from across the country at the annual Local Government Association (LGA) Conference.

Billed as “the biggest in the local government calendar” the event is being held at the Harrogate International Centre from 30 June to 2 July 2015. It is also one of the most attended political conferences of the year, attracting over 1,200 delegates.

With 348 local authorities currently maintaining Local Land Charges (LLC) Registers, it is an opportunity to speak directly to policy makers. This follows legislation enabling Land Registry to provide a digital LLC service given Royal Assent in February.

The LLC Engagement Team will use our exhibition stand in the main hall as a chance to understand how local authorities operate their registers. This information will then support how we migrate records onto our digital system.

“It will be great to meet delegates as we know there is a lot of interest in our proposals,” said Rhonda Griffiths, Local Authority Stakeholder Manager. “Following the election period we are now embarking on a series of local authority visits and this event is a perfect opportunity to kick-start this work.”
