Today, we are proud to announce the launch of MapSearch. We’ve been developing and testing the service alongside customers and partner organisations since the start of July.
We’re very pleased with the final service and feel every second of development was worth it.
The free service we launch today offers land and property professionals a searchable online version of Land Registry’s Index Map that contains the location of all registered land and property in England and Wales.
We hope you have felt informed throughout the development, here’s a quick look back at our blog post:
- We announced our intention to provide this service in July and set out what we were doing and why we were doing it.
- Soon after announcing we were developing MapSearch, we shared a video that showed our ‘Alpha in a day’ event.
- We started beta testing in November and opened the beta test to all professional customers on 10th Feb.
- Last week we confirmed we would launch the service in March, alongside fee reductions, other new services and enhancements to existing services. We’re glad we were able to launch it this early in the month.
Up to 12,000 customers have used the ‘beta’ version of the service through Land Registry’s online transactional channel, the portal with about 2,000 customers using the service each day in March.
We thank you all for your feedback and input that has shaped the service into what it is today. I hope you enjoy using the service, and that it brings real cost savings and time benefits to your business.
