Ed Lester, Local Land Charges, procurement, market warming day

On Monday, we met with potential suppliers from across the country at our third Local Land Charges (LLC) market warming day.

Held in Central London at the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the event brought together potential suppliers to discuss and identify requirements for our LLC proposals.

The day was opened by Ed Lester, Chief Land Registrar and Chief Executive, who highlighted the importance the Land Registry Board places on delivering the LLC Programme. Ed also reinforced that the proposals were consistent with the Government’s Digital by Default agenda and will ease the process of buying property.

Members of the LLC team then provided updates on the progress the programme has made since we last engaged with the market and how we intend to move forward during the legislative process.

“It was great to see the level of interest in our proposals reflected in the large turnout from suppliers”, said Kirk Bedford, Local Authority Digital Delivery Manager. “We wanted to bring the market together to discuss our plans in a transparent way before starting any formal procurement procedure.”

Over the next month, we will conduct face-to-face conversations with interested parties. We have also released a ‘Request for Information’ pack to help refine our commercial approach.
